A group of St. Louis women founded St. Louis Children's Hospital as a charity venture in 1879. Physicians of Homoeopathic Medical College of Missouri staffed the hospital from 1879-1910. When the college closed, the hospital sought another medical school affiliation. Following negotiations between Grace Jones, president of the hospital Board of Managers, and Robert S. Brookings, president of WU, an agreement was reached in 1912, whereby pediatric faculty of WUSM would staff the hospital. In 1915...
